Japan will soon get a phone from Yahoo through SoftBand which is the third biggest cell phone operator service in the country. The funniest part is that the cell phone will have Android OS,
which is made by one of Yahoo’s biggest rivals – Google.
SoftBank is also an investor at Yahoo Japan and hence it is not a surprise that the two companies have come together for this phone. The handset will be manufactured by Sharp and it will run on Android Gingerbread OS. It will also have an eight megapixels camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, digital TV tuner, and a lot of other features.
Yahoo apps will be pre-loaded on this phone and it will include Yahoo Luco, Yahoo Japan Auctions, and Yahoo Japan Home. This phone will arrive in the Japanese markets by next month. Even the people who are using Google services heavily will love these Yahoo apps on the phone. Yahoo is biggest Website in Japan and hence it will connect well with the Japanese audience.
