Tablets have been selling fast in the market and the Apple iPad 2 is much ahead of competitors in terms of sales. However, Stan Shih, the Acer founder, says that tablets and ultrabooks are just short term attractions and will die soon.

He said that tablets will need to be creative and would go away if laptops get more convenient and cheaper. When these comments were made is not known though.

Stan also gave credit to Apple for making the iPad and said it was an out of the box and original concept. He also said that other manufacturers have a lot to learn from Apple.

However, other markets watchers say that tablets won’t be fading any time soon. Acer themselves are planning to make more tablets for cashing in on the latest craze in the world of computers. This company said that the industry needs are more value added device.

Stan made 1 valid point that most of us would agree. He said that platform of PC was basis of IT industry and tablets emerged from these personal computers. The consumers have given overwhelming support to tablets and this means that they need more of such convenient and cheap devices.
